What's New in 24Trots: Built-In Team Messaging, Horse Care Logs, and More
Team messaging is now built into 24Trots — channels, threads, and @mentions, no separate app needed. This update also adds a Horse Care Log and file attachments for Participant records.
24Trots Release Notes — June 8, 2026 Release date: June 8, 2026 Update type: Minor version update Applies to: All user roles (Admin, Manager, Member, Participant) · All person types (Staff, Volunteer, Participant, Guardian) Estimated read time: 2 minutes Summary This was a big week. Team messaging launched as a built-in feature of 24Trots, giving your whole operation a shared communication space without needing a separate app. Several roster and record management improvements also shipped alongside it.
What's New 💬 Built-In Team Messaging Your team now has a dedicated messaging space inside 24Trots with organized channels, threaded replies, emoji reactions, and @mentions. Unread message indicators appear in the sidebar and on the mobile menu so nothing gets missed. Messaging is available as a paid add-on for your organization. Use it when: You need to coordinate last-minute coverage, share a reminder before a session, or keep barn communication in one place instead of scattered across texts and emails. 🐴 Horse Care Log Each horse's detail page now includes a Care Log section where you can record feeding, health checks, farrier visits, and other notes. Entries are timestamped, editable, and load more on demand so long histories stay manageable. Use it when: Tracking a horse's daily care routine or logging a vet visit so the whole team can see it. 📎 File Attachments for Participants Participant person records now support file attachments — useful for storing medical forms, emergency contacts, or other documents that need to travel with a Participant's record. Use it when: A new Participant submits paperwork that you want linked directly to their profile. Improvements • Sessions list pagination: The sessions list now loads 20 at a time with a "Load More" button, keeping the page fast for organizations with large session histories.
• Tap name or avatar to open record: On session rosters, tapping a Participant's name or avatar now navigates directly to their detail page.
• Drag-and-drop roster reordering: Staff and Volunteer sections on quota rosters support drag-and-drop to move people between roles.
• Last updated timestamp: Person and horse detail pages now show when the record was last modified.
• Role and system role in sidebar: The sidebar profile display now shows both your person type and your user role together.
• Mobile session filter UI: Filter controls on the sessions list are now consistent across mobile and desktop.
• Series detail page alignment: The series detail page layout now matches the visual patterns used across session and person pages.
Fixes • Fixed tack discipline not being saved when added to Participant-horse assignments.
• Fixed Participants and Guardians being incorrectly counted toward Volunteer and Staff quota spots.
• Fixed the messaging desktop layout not displaying correctly on medium-sized screens.
• Fixed person email uniqueness checks that were not catching conflicts across all person types.
